Paul Wallace
HEAD coach
Coach Wallace enters his 1st year at Timbercreek High School after 8 years as the Head HS Swim Coach at Rockwall HS and 5 years as the Assistant HS Swim Coach at Southlake Carroll. Coach Wallace and his wife, Dana, have three young children: Olivia (13), Desmon (10), and Duke (8). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology: Health Promotion and Fitness, with a minor in Business Administration. How he got into swimming? Coach Wallace first got into Competitive Swimming in 10th grade because of a flyer on the wall of his high school. He had missed football tryouts and saw the flyer. His first tryout was in basketball shorts, no cap, no goggles. He was required to swim a 50 yard free for time. His tryout time was :40 seconds and far from efficient. From an inauspicious 10th grade beginning, Coach Wallace went on to a :49+, 100 yd back and a 20.1 50 yd free (23.3 50 meter free) at the University of Texas. -Big 12 Board of Athletics Directors Honor Roll -The University of Texas at Austin Swim Team Varsity Letterman -USA Swimming Senior National Qualifier - U.S. Open Qualifer @ Rockwall HS Coaching Accomplishments: (as voted by his coaching peers) 2x District Coach of the Meet 5x District Coach of the Year 1x Regional Coach of the Meet 1x Regional Girls Swimming Coach of the Meet District Championships: (Girls) 2012, 2015, 2016, 2017- (Top 3 Finishes: 7) (Boys) 2012, 2015, 2016- (Top 3 Finishes: 9) Regional Championships (Girls)- 6x Top 5 (Boys)- 4x Top 5 State Championships (Girls)- 2016: 6th, 2017: 10th Coached 28 NISCA All-Americans since 2009 (not including All-American Consideration athletes) Coach Wallace’s Rockwall HS Teams have won the Girl’s District Championships 4x and the Boy’s District Championships 3x during his tenure. Coach Wallace also worked 4 years as a USA Age Group Coach with R.A.C.E. in Rockwall, Texas (2009-2013) He coached summer-league from 2006 to 2017, and has taught swim lessons ever since graduating from college. He was formerly the Coordinator/Director of the Dragon Swim Academy, which includes all of our CISD swim lessons and the precompetitive Dragon Stroke Team. During his time as an Assistant Coach in Southlake Carroll the program was able to accomplish the following: 6x Team State Championships Coach Wallace was voted 2022 TISCA Assistant State Coach of the Year and is currently an ASCA Level 4 certification
